Not often do we have taste that appreciates both sparkling and still water – it’s often a love of one and a hatred of the other. For many, the deciding factor in choosing between still or sparkling water comes down to which is best for your health. Well, we’re glad to those that like the bubbly variety, that sparkling water is not in any way bad for your health.
But what about that undeniable difference in taste?
We’re going to explain why still water tastes different to sparkling water.
Still Water vs Sparkling Water
It’s important to remember that all water tastes different, whether it’s mineral water, spring water, distilled water – whatever water you get will vary in taste from type to type, as well as from source to source.
Tap water tastes of chlorine, which is used to kill off the harmful bacteria present our recycled municipal water. Spring water will taste different to purified water due to the presence of various vitamins, minerals and chemicals that originate from the source. But, still water and sparkling water may well come from the same source and still taste different. There reason for this is simple:
Sparkling water is simply water which has carbon dioxide (CO2 gas) dissolved into it. The reason the water fizzes is because the gas is trying to escape, but bear in mind that not all of it will escape. When the CO2 has dissolved into water, it becomes carbonic acid, which gives the water a bit of a tang.
Taste of Different Types of Water
In this article, we explained the differences between the major types of water on the market. Although there are still several others on the market. Having concluded that one of the major contributing factors in the taste of water concerns the minerals and vitamins present, one could ask the question why Aquazania water always tastes so consistently great?
Well, the answer is quite simple. All Aquazania water undergoes a nine-stage purification process which actually removes all chemicals and minerals (including potentially harmful excess chlorine and fluoride) before we add only the healthiest minerals back into the water before the bottling process. This means our water is crisp, pure and always tastes great on the palate.
