Best Dulce Gusto Coffee Machines

Discover the Top Three Nescafé’s Dulce Gusto Coffee Machines Rated by Customers

Spoiler Alert: The Compact Machines are Coming in Hot.

Nescafé Dolce Gusto machines have become incredibly popular and with good reason. Their machines allow you to produce personalised and professional drinks in the comfort of your own home. These machines make coffee and so much more. They are simple to use so making that coffee to start your day is quick and easy. They also require little cleaning as the coffee grinds stay in the pod. To add to this, there is a large range of delicious flavours and the machines are a stylish addition to your home. Finally, they come in a range of prices to suit your pocket and with a two-year guarantee.

Nescafé has seven models that differ in price, automation and aesthetic. They are all easy to clean, have 15 bar pressure, have an energy-saving mode, provide high-quality drinks and have hot and cold options. Keep in mind, all machines received a high customer rating but not all machines were deemed equal with some coming in hotter than others.

Rated out of 5, the Dolce Gusto Genio 2 came in at 4.5, the Mini Me Automatic came in at 4.4, the Piccolo Manual came in at 4.3, the Esperta Automatic came in at 4.3, the Lumio Automatic came in at 4.1 and the Stelia Automatic came in at 3.3. What three of the top four all had in common is their size – customers seem to like powerful compact machines that can do it all.

Compact Machines

Dolce Gusto Genio 2 Automatic

This machine received a 4.5-star rating. It is the small but sleek and stylish automatic black coffee machine. It comes with a standard steel drip, chrome lever, and capsule holder but it does not have the LCD screen, touch technology or capsule bin so you have to throw away each capsule before you make your next cup. It has a water capacity best for making one cup at a time at 0.8L. With its automatic play and select function, you can make the perfect cup rather than receiving the standard cup from a manual machine. It is priced in the middle range at R1 999,00.

Best for you if:

  • You want something compact.
  • You generally make beverages for only one person.
  • You like to customise your beverages.
  • You want the most features for this category.

Mini-Me Automatic

This machine received a 4.4-star rating. This is the smallest of the machines on offer but still lets you make the same type of drinks as its larger counterparts. It comes in red, white and black to suit your style. With a Red Dot Design Award, it is a design must-have. It has a 1L water tank and is best for making one to two cups at a time. It has a capsule holder and mechanical lever but no steel drip, capsule bin, LCD screen, touch technology or chrome lever. This small but powerful machine will cost you R1 699,00.

Best for you if:

  • You want something very compact.
  • You generally make beverages for one to two people.
  • You like to customise your beverages.
  • You are looking to choose from a range of colours.

Piccolo Manual Matt Black

This machine received a 4.3 rating. This compact machine comes in a stylish red as well as the standard black. Unlike the other compact machines, it has a decalcify alert. This means that it lets you know when to get rid of limescale which lengthens the machine’s lifespan. It also offers the most litres of water for its category at 1.4L which means you can easily get two cups of coffee out of it before refilling the water. It does not offer touch technology, a capsule bin and holder, chrome lever or LCD screen. It also does not allow you to customise your cup with the play and select feature. However, this is the most affordable model with the least specifications. It is currently priced at R1 499,00.

Best for you if:

  • You want something compact.
  • You generally make beverages for more than one person.
  • You don’t need many features and want something functional.
  • You want great beverages on a budget.
