Buying a Second-hand or Refurbished Coffee Machine
Buying a secondhand or refurbished coffee machine can be a really attractive option, but it can also be a tricky business. It’s sometimes difficult to determine the corrosive effects of limescale or if any kind of service backup is available if things don’t go to plan.
Benefits
- Cheaper upfront costs
What to watch out for?
- Second hand machines should have some type of history so you can know who had the machine and for how long. Think of a car with a known service history, same for coffee machines.
- If the supplier is unable to give you the approximate number of cups the machine has made then you really have to watch out, because you won’t be able to gauge how much the machine has already been used, think milage (for our car analogy)
- Ensure the supplier is able to give to exact age of machine which again, will help you to determine the overall condition of the machine
- Ensure you get at least some type of guarantee on the machine (Aquaspresso gives one year)
Aquaspresso is also able to provide you with all of the above if you’d like to get your hands on a great coffee machine, but you’re not that concerned that it has to be a new one.
