Coffee Machine Accessories: Complete Your Coffee Experience
What’s nicer than having something “with all the bells and whistles”? That one little extra items that literally makes the world of difference.
Did you know that if you have a coffee machine, it’s likely there is some sort of accessory that can enhance it’s performance or make a certain aspect of using that machine SOOOO much better?
If not, or if so, read on for all the coffee machine accessories your heart could ever desire.
Jura Coffee Machine Accessories
Probably the most famous brand for their cool-control storage is Jura. They offer a refrigerated milk cannister, compatible with their machines, which allows you to keep your milk from spoiling, even if you forget it out overnight. No need to remove the canister for fridge-cooling, it’s all built in.
Is your milk froth just not cutting it for you anymore? The Jura Fine Foam Milk frother accessory will allow you to take your cappuccino to the level of a latte, with Micro Foam technology at the touch of a dial.
Permanent water supply connections mean you never have to worry about refilling the tank of your Jura again.
Nespresso Coffee Machine Accessories
No, from the outset let me make this clear, ladies: George Clooney is not an accessory for your Nespresso machine.
Jokes aside, while many Nespresso accessories exist – not many are readily available in South Africa. The few that are may serve a larger purpose than you could image.
Picture your morning coffee with some freshly frothed milk, instead of powdered milk from your capsule. This is exactly the comfort the Nespresso Aeroccino will provide.
What would a Nespresso be without the signature mini glass cups? Get them here.
Saeco Coffee Machine Accessories
Also limited within the South African market – what is available to us from Saeco South Africa might not be as fancy as cool-control fridges, but they sure do serve a big purpose.
The Saeco Coffee Oil remover helps prolong the lifespan of your coffee machine, as well as removing any burnt, bitter-tasting residue that might stay behind.
The Brita-brand water filter may be one of your best investments in prolonging the life of your machine and drastically improving the taste of your coffee. It allows for water filtration to happen without an external purified water source or external filter. This will also prevent the build-up of lime-scale in your machine, and lengthen periods between needing to de-calcify.
DeLonghi Coffee Machine Accessories
We really did get the short end of the stick in terms of coffee machine accessory availability in South Africa. However, my bets tip (if you use a DeLonghi coffee machine) is to invest in their Milk Cleanser. This will ensure your steam wand is always in top-notch condition and prevent any milk residue build-up on your wand.
Filter Coffee Machine Accessories
It’s not often you can find a filter coffee machine accessory – but I have made a point of emphasising the need for freshly ground beans – no matter your brewing method.
For any filter coffee machine, try invest in a stand-alone bean grinder.
Ceramic will cost more and last longer, whereas the steel-blade grinders are far more affordable but have a shorter life span and produce less of a consistent grind.
To try this out, I would suggest starting with a blade grinder; check out some options here.
Foam Wands might warrant consideration – if you enjoy a regular density foam and don’t mind adding some elbow-grease. However, thee will never produce the fine foam frother a professional milk frother might, so for any coffee machine you use -a stand-alone milk frother might not be a bad idea. Plenty of options for you over here.
What is your favourite coffee machine accessory and how has it changed the way you love your coffee?
