Delonghi Coffee Machine Costs: Pricing and Features Reviewed
Delonghi coffee machines are one of the best selling domestic bean to cup machine brands in the world. Delonghi automatic bean machines arguably represent the best value for money option when compared to any other bean to cup machine brands on the market. In this post we list all the Delonghi coffee machine models available in South Africa as well as they prices (based on the average selling price across retails shops in South Africa) and key features of each particular model.
Delonghi Coffee Machines Specs and Features:
The Delonghi model names are not the most catchy or identifiable as far as model names go. Most models are prefixed by either ECAM or ESAM followed by what often seem to be an arbitrary number. Most of the range is similar in size and capacity and although all the models can be used in any environment from homes to offices, their small sizes make them particularly suited to domestic use.
PrimaDonna Exclusive ESAM 6900.M: Cost and Key Features
The ESAM 6900 is the flagship Delonghi model featuring a hot chocolate function on top of the standard espresso, coffee, cappuccino and latte options. The hot choc function works by placing a mixture of chocolate powder and milk into a small carafe which then connects to the machine, wizzes the mixture and heats it up to your desired temperature. This model is one of the only automatic machines in any brand which is able to make hot choc as well as the standard coffee offerings. The unit also features a touch screen interface (the first to feature on any Delonghi coffee machine) which shows the user exactly the type of drink being produced

My Two Cents:
The Delonghi range of coffee machines, represent a great value for money option. Our one criticism would be that they are particularly suited for domestic use and have relatively small water tanks compared to the Jura and Saeco range and for this reason they might not be the perfect solution as an office or restaurant machine. When we tested the milk frothing ability of the range we also were not as impressed as we were when testing the Saeco and Jura brands but then again the range of Delonghi machines are significantly cheaper than both these two brands.
