DeLonghi Price 2016: A Guide for Your Favourite Bean-to-Cup Automatic Machines

In the spirit of the New Year and ever changing prices, we decided to a do a comprehensive list of expected prices for 2016. You can see our Saeco Price Review for 2016 as well as our Jura 2016 Pricing Guides at your own convenience. With DeLonghi holding such power over the Coffee Machine market (whether you know it or not) , it would just be wrong to skimp over reviewing the best of the best of DeLonghi. In this specific Blog, we look at the prices specifically for the Bean-to-Cup Automatic Range.

DeLonghi ECAM 23.210.W

This sleek and enticing design is as alluring as it is functional. Whether you are a seasoned coffee lover, or someone who has decided to take a step up from either pod coffee machines or (*gasp*) instant coffee – you’re headed in the right direction! Sitting comfortably in the R 6 000.00 price range, it’s as easy-to-use as it is to buy or rent: It has a one-touch production button, easily controlled coffee aroma intensity as a well as coffee size control, this fully automatic machine is a one stop happiness shop! A 13 setting grinder is sure to please even the most discerning taste buds.

DeLonghi ECAM 23.420.SB

Strictly available from Makro, you can expect to pay about R 9 000.00 for this little piece of luxury. The main difference between the ECAM 23.210.W and the ECAM 23.420.SB – apart from their price (you’re looking at paying R 9 000.00 for this machine) – is four main factors: It holds a higher bean hopper capacity of 250g, contains an automatic on-off power saving mode as well as the evolved cappuccino system. Also, bear in mind that this is only available through Makro’s online shopping portal – and takes up to 21 days to ship. This is a factor to consider in the long run – price influencers are very fickle.

DeLonghi ECAM 23.450.S

While this product is very hard to find locally, Amazon does offer it for a rough rate of R 23 000.00 for outright purchase. This price difference is largely due to importing of the machine and it’s lack of availability locally. Also, in comparison to the ECAM 23.420.SB, this machine lacks the larger hopper capacity, the rapid steam system as well as the evolved cappuccino system. It does, however contain audio signal and automatic cappuccino system cleaning. Of course it has some pro’s and some con’s – but always consider what influences the price of your coffee machine. For some guidance on this topic – read this.

DeLonghi ECAM 23.460.S

Containing the De’Longhi LatteCrema System, a large 250g hopper capacity and automatic cleaning functionality, this machine looks almost precisely the same as the ECAM 23.450.S – it is available locally at both Makro and DionWired for a much more reasonable price of between R 9 000.00 – R 10.000.

DeLonghi Primadonna ESAM 6600

I really start to get excited when we delve into these kind of automatic machines! This beast boasts a patented Automatic Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato or Cafe Latte system: place the cup under the nozzle and press the selected beverage button – it’s as easy as that.

It also has a memory function: You can memorize your favourite Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato or Café Latte by choosing the amount of milk and coffee YOU want! Available online and locally for an average price range of between R 10 000.00 – R 12 000.00, we are moving closer to suitability for medium offices and slightly higher volume requirements.

DeLonghi Prrimadonna S DeLuxe ECAM 26.455.M

What a mouthful! The design of this machine is somewhat breathtaking, I must admit. It is sleek, compact, easy to understand and quite impressive – to say the least! Containing an Automatic Cappuccino systems means that your only required input is to place your cup under the nozzle and select your drink at the touch of a button. The machine does the rest for you. Now this may seem quite basic – but the selected options for hot drinks available don’t stop at Cappuccino; they include Latte and Macchiato, too! The memory function means that if you love your brew as much as we love coffee in general – you can programme it to remember exactly how you like your coffee. Available locally and online for a range of R 13 000.00 – R 16 000.00, it’s quite a bargain and may be a great fit for quality coffee availability in your medium sized office or home.

DeLonghi Eletta Cappuccino ECAM 44.660.B

While this machine’s looks may not be awe-inpsiring, we’ve always been taught not to judge a book by it’s cover. With a passive cup warmer (eco friendly points here) – a 400g hopper capacity, and a drudge drawer that can hold 14 puks worth of coffee means that this is etching towards suitability for medium to somewhat larger office requirements. Price ranges of R 10 000.00 – R 12 000.00 can be expected for this little wonder.

DeLonghi Eletta Cappuccino ECAM 45.760.W

The main differences between the ECAM 44.660.B as listed above, and the ECAM 44.660.B can be summarised in three easy sentences: the ECAM 45.760.W makes use of an active tray warmer (which may consume a bit more electricity than it’s passive tray warmer counterpart), it contains an “extra” cappuccino device and lastly, is white in colour. The price range of R 10 000.00 – R 13 000.00 is the same as it’s ECAM 44.660.B counterpart and means that only a few features may set the machines apart. Choose what is more important to your form the comparisons above.

DeLonghi Primadonna Exclusive ESAM 6900.M

Now we’re talking big league. Off the bat, this will set you back at least R 18 000.00, but… This machine’s aesthetic appeal far surpasses many of the other DeLonghi range coffee machines. The LCD display screen lends a certain air of class to the machine; the multiple profile settings mean that you can store your favourite coffee, and so can the next guy. It holds coffee memory – freeing up your own memory for the more important things 🙂 A dedicated chocolate and milk jug is included with the machine, meaning that your speciality drinks such as Macchiato’s and Latte’s are always of the best quality. A one year guarantee adds the stamp of quality assurance we’re all so desperately after.

Magnifica Esam 3500

Exclusively available at Hirsch’s for the price of around R 8 500.00, this little monster of a machine has customizable and adjustable heat and size settings to suite any taste. Offering flexibility in terms of product input, you have the freedom to choose whether you want to use coffee beans or pre-ground coffee – an option very few automatic coffee machines offer. A nearly 2 litre water tank allows for extension in time between fills. It also boasts a new patented thermoblock to ensure the espresso at the ideal and constant temperature. Fancy, eh?
