Hot Shot Coffee: The Most Innovative Coffee Yet?

Hot Shot Coffee: The Most Innovative Coffee Yet?

There’s no denying coffee has come a long way; from the archaic Moka Pot, all the way through to classy convenience in Automatic Bean to Cup Coffee machine and Capsule Coffee Machines. Imagine a world where you don’t even have to boil the water, press a button or decant your coffee. Imagine if you could grab a pre-mixed can of coffee (yes, just like a can of soft drink), pop it into a sturdy, stylish travel-size suitcase – and be greeted with some of the tastiest, innovative and piping-hot coffee’s you have yet to experience? Hot Shot Coffee has done just that!

What is Hot Shot Coffee?

Hot Shot Coffee is is ingenuity beyond it’s time. Premium quality, flavoured coffee, canned into a convenient 240ml can. You aren’t limited to the traditional coffee flavours; their current range includes French Vanilla Coffee (containing only 99 mg of caffeine), Caramel Frappé (containing 124mg of caffeine), Sweetened 100% Arabica Espresso (containing 284mg of caffeine) , Hot Chocolate Cocoa (from what I can see this contains no caffeine) and Hot Shot Black – 100% Sumatra Coffee (containing 185mg of caffeine). Now, if I compare that to the range we have come to expect in our regular coffee shops, we still have a long way to go. The best part of this is that the drinks aren’t even the most impressive part of what makes Hot Shot the growing success it is!

Hot Shot Features and Perks

For starters, Hot Shot is made of 100% pure Arabica Coffee Beans; in any coffee -lovers world, this equates to some certifiably decent coffee. All cans are 240ml in size, carry a one-year shelf life (where in the coffee world do you get that?!) Kosher Certified and consumable either hot or cold. The thermo-insulated label has it’s very own set of magic tricks; not only does it give the can a beautiful and stylish finish, it serves two other purposes. Because of it’s thermal properties, you will never need a “cosy” for your hot drink. The label actively keeps the drink inside the can piping hot – and it keeps the heat inside. This means you don’t run the risk of burning yourself when drinking this incredible nectar!

What is a Hot Box?

Hot Box is the world’s first HOT fridge! It uses patented heating technology to optimise energy efficiency while keeping your stored Hot Shot Coffee cans at a stable temperature – for up to three months! This little fridge comes in three colours – purple, yellow and green – and is included in your initial starter pack. When this “fridge” is fully stocked (at capacity of 12 Hot Shot cans) – it only weighs a meagre 4.5 kg’s.

Hot Shot Coffee in South Africa

Is it just me, or is SA right at the back of the “cool gadgets” queue? That sad story aside – the good news here is that you can import this amazing technology for a minimal fee. While this is still a relatively new product, Shark Tank USA has pretty much endorsed it. That gives me just a little more confidence in the product. No, you won’t be able to order it locally, nor pop into any coffee store, but you can buy your starter pack (includes a Hot Shot Fridge and 12 Hot Shot Coffee cans – for $69.99 ) (likely excludes additional shipping costs). But hey – if we want something, we go out and get it, right?
