Instant Hot Beverage Options

Instant Hot Beverage Options: Hot Chocolate, Tea and Coffee

Like everyone I pick up weight during winter. Trying my best to avoid this is difficult as I know I should drink water but the last thing I’m reaching for is a cold glass. Working at a coffee company, I am spoilt for choice at the office with a selection of coffee machines to choose from. If I don’t feel like a bean to cup coffee, I simply go downstairs and drink from our vending machine; other days when I need a quick fix, I grab a cuppa from our filter coffee machine. I try to keep my intake of coffee at such a level that I no longer have the craving when I get home to my plain ol’ kettle.

I have learnt, however as hard as it is , to live without a coffee machine at home. I have complied a list of instant options for myself, and others like me, who don’t have the luxury yet of having an Aquaspresso coffee machine (or any coffee machine for that matter) in their home or office.

Instant Hot Chocolatehot choc

Hot chocolate options are aplenty. From the basic shop bought brands like Cadburys or Nestle to my personal favourite instant hot chocolate option – Nomu. Nomu’s skinny hot chocolate which you can buy from most retail stores is the closest one can get in my opinion to a coffee machine made chocolate drink –Available online at PnP online shopping

English Tea For Breakfasttea

Camellia sinensis plant (English tea), is the second most widely consumed drink in the world, after water. I do enjoy a good old English tea, but mostly I enjoy the scones or cucumber sandwiches on white bread with no crusts that it’s served with. Tea is rich in antioxidants and, like coffee contains caffeine so don’t stop drinking it just avoid the additives. Ever had a red cappuccino? An article by Gregg Forbes explains the Red Cappuccino carries the usual traits of a cappuccino; its rich, creamy, and topped with foam and a touch of cinnamon, with one very special difference – Instead of a concentrated double shot of coffee, the primary ingredient is actually a concentrated shot of Rooibos Tea! Madness, I know! And all available without requiring a coffee machine!

Instant Coffee – Just Add Waterinstant coffee

A black cup of coffee has zero calories and it has caffeine which boosts your metabolism (filter coffee has around 95mg caffeine and Espresso around 64mg caffeine), and instant lies somewhere in between. Instant coffee is still the number one consumed coffee worldwide because all you need is instant and hot water! Yes it might not taste the same as a freshly ground espresso, but on cold winter mornings, it more then does the trick!

Bullet Proof Coffee:bullet proof

Ever heard of Bulletproof Coffee? Another great way to start the day

We have written an article before about this weight loss fad. If you’re trying to cut calories or saturated fat, Bulletproof probably isn’t the brew for you. It does have a whole lot more health benefits than many of the other blended whipped cream-on-top coffee monstrosities you could be sipping however.

How to make bulletproof coffee:

1.    Make coffee, any which way will do, but Filter Machines or an Espresso Machine would be preferable – hit us up again – Coffee Solutions and Products

2.    Pour into blender
3.    Add 1-2 tbsp. of your butter
4.    Add 1-2 tbsp. of your oil
5.    Blend away.
6.    Spice it up – I would never, being a boring coffee purist – but feel free to add cinnamon, chai or some dark decadent chocolate flakes.
7.    Drink your cup and be awesome.
8.    Have an inside chuckle at all the people who ate grains and twigs for breakfast, as you overtake them on the highway of life.

Best Way to Get a Coffee Machine if the Above Doesn’t Cut it For You

So getting the boss to agree or persuading your partners to invest in a coffee machine may sometimes be tricky, so start them off slowly. The best way to start is to trial a coffee machine. An entry level unit would be the Bravilor Novo Filter Machine . Next in line would be a Jura Automatic Machine which gets you into the fancy zone with the ability to make cappuccinos, lattes and of course the main ingredient to most coffee’s and espresso – fat free milk or 2% is best for frothing as the decreased fat content and increased protein content encourages a better froth. For larger offices and companies a Vending Machine is the way to go (we have instant and bean varieties) and we only use fat free powdered milk so no more fattening creamers.
