Jura A9 vs Jura ENA9 Micro: Which is the Best?

Jura A9 vs Jura ENA9 Micro: Battle of the Bean Machines

A long long time ago (1931 to be exact) in a far far away land (Switzerland), something magical occurred. JURA Elektroapparate AG started developing high-end household appliances and none of us have ever looked back!

Jura, with its fine Swiss tuning has been pioneers in automatic coffee machines since the mid 1980’s and bring us beautiful new, exciting and wonderful machines each year for home and office. This year is no different with the New Impressa A9 , but most will wonder what is the difference between this new Jura Impressa A9 and the Jura ENA Micro 9 and that’s what I’m here to tell you!

The Same, The Same: Jura Machine Similarities

I want to start with the similarities. Both machines have the unique Aroma+ grinder which reduces grinding time and noise by up to 50%. The grinder geometry and finer teeth guarantee consistent grinding results throughout the lifetime of the machine

Energy save mode is also unique to these machines to all of you whom would like to keep  your carbon emissions on the down low – With the Energy Save Mode (E.S.M.©), the machine’s energy-saving potential can be adjusted entirely to your habits and you can save up to 40 % of the energy normally required.

Size wise they are so close it’s scary-with just over a kilo in weight difference and a few centimeters in size.

The Differences Between the Jura A9 vs Jura ENA 9 Micro

The old ENA Micro 9 has Programmable levels of coffee strength and brewing temperature which is lacking in the new.

What makes the new machine so special? Is it the TFT display with Rotary Selection for self-explanatory, intuitive operation. It’s an operating concept that sets new standards. Simply turn the Rotary Switch and a list of specialty coffees appears on the modern TFT display. All you need to do is press the button once, and you’ll soon be drinking coffee that fulfills your wildest dreams.

Guided assistance:
Operation and programming have never been so easy and intuitive. The automatic specialty coffee machine guides you through all the menus and programming with text and images. No matter whether you want to customize your latte macchiato or be guided through a maintenance programme, the interactive navigation makes it quick and easy.

It is made of Alu Frame Design© 3 mm aluminum side panel which makes it pretty to look at and light weight. And then we get to what it can make.

The ending of the story:

With many similarities and differences these machines are true to their own and I think that the price might be our savior in decision making – for the penny pincher I imagine the R13,200 Jura ENA Micro 9 will do just fine but for those who will splurge a little extra the Jura Impressa A9 comes in at R15,300.
